Two Warranties, Doing Two Different Jobs
Ten years on our labor, and a 50-year limited — lifetime for the original homeowner — warranty on the shingle itself, backed by Owens Corning.
Our 10-year workmanship warranty
This is the one that matters most, and it is the one most contractors are vaguest about. It covers our installation — flashing, fastening, underlayment, valleys, penetrations, and every other place a roof leaks because of how it was put on rather than what it was made of.
A perfect shingle installed badly still leaks, and the manufacturer will not cover that. We will, for ten years.
The Owens Corning shingle warranty
Owens Corning provides a 50-year limited warranty on the shingle itself — lifetime for the original homeowner — covering manufacturing defects in the product. Coverage is limited and prorates after the initial period, and the full terms are set by Owens Corning rather than by us.
What neither warranty covers
We would rather you know this now than find out during a claim. Neither warranty covers damage from hurricanes, hail, fallen trees or other storm events — that is what your homeowner’s insurance is for, and it is exactly the process we help you through. Neither covers damage caused by work another contractor performs on the roof after us, by foot traffic, or by failure to keep gutters and valleys clear.
